Challenge
Originally developed by a west coast firm, the BIZZY BEE was referred to SPARK by one of it's trusted manufacturing partners because the product design was incomplete. After a review, SPARK discovered that the current design required extensive mechanical and plastics design to prepare it for production.
In addition to this design challenge, the BIZZY BEE represented a brand new product in a brand new category in a market already overcrowded with electronic gadgets.

Solution
After gaining the client's trust, SPARK's design refinements dramatically improved the overall quality and value of the BIZZY BEE:
- Re-configured the internal mechanical assembly and circuit boards for higher performance and more efficient DFM&A.
- Totally re-designed the outer, removable, elastomeric jacket to make it cost-effective, functional and stylish, and to reduce the visual mass. SPARK also re-designed the inner, hard plastic case (puck) that protects the electronics, allows for easy battery change-out, and incorporates a slip-on belt clip.
- Re-designed the keypad to improve articulation and reliability.
- Guided the inventors to one of SPARK's plastic molding vendors who produced the internal and external housings.

Result
In a matter of months, SPARK was able to collaborate with the original west coast firm and re-design the BIZZY BEE into a production-quality, market-ready product.
Preliminary feedback from BIZZY BEE user trials was extremely positive. The BIZZY BEE is currently in beta manufacturing. And as a result of the project, SPARK has become a trusted advisor of the client.
